Caspian shallowing threatens Middle Corridor efficiency, may require pier extensions -Azerbaijani shipping company


BAKU. Sept 8 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) — The ongoing shallowing of the Caspian Sea is creating new challenges for shipping and may require extending piers at ports, said Alekber Azizli, director for sustainable development and emissions management at Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), speaking Tuesday at Baku Climate Action Week 2026.
